Printed resources
Halsbury's Laws is an authoritative encyclopaedia of law in the England and Wales. Volumes 39 to 41 of the 5th edition of Halsbury will give you an overview of English employment law, while the footnotes will direct you to the most important cases, legislation and commentary in that area. (Use the Cumulative Supplement to check for any new developments in the law since the volume was printed.)
The print volumes of Halsbury's Laws are at K1 in the main Reading Room. OU members can access Halsbury's Laws electronically via Lexis®Library. (use link below)
The collection of textbooks and monographs on English employment law is also in the main Reading Room, with shelfmarks between KN190 and KN198. (Click on the tab Books above for more detail about classification.Click on appropriate tab if you are interestedin EU or non UK law)
Law Library: Reserve Collection
When you search SOLO for texts you may find - especially if the text is recommended on an undergrad reading list - that the location is shown as "Law Library Reserve Collection." Armed with your University Card/Reader's Ticket and desk number, please ask for these books at the Reserve Collection desk in the Reading Room and they will be issued to you for use in the Library.
